The Jewelry Collection

This carefully curated collection is brought to you by Jeff Crawford, Nashville's Shaman ®. Jeff travels to Peru to visit his Shipibo family each year and hand picks items to bring back to his healing practice and store. These pieces are crafted from beads, from seeds gathered and dyed, from feathers foraged from the jungle and are each unique.

Due to the handcrafted nature of these tribal artisan goods, items that have more than one available may vary from the photo. Colors, feathers and beads may vary from item to item. Feel free to contact The Shaman Shop with questions regarding specific items.

Origins & Artisans

Shipibo designs are traditionally carried out on natural un-dyed cotton (which they often grow themselves) or on cotton dyed in mahogany bark (usually three or four times) which gives the distinctive brown colour. They paint either using a pointed piece of chonta (bamboo) or an iron nail with the juice of the crushed Huito (Genipa americana) berry fruits which turns into a blue- brown-black dye once exposed to air.
